Synthane Taylor Laminates

Taconic purchased the
Synthane-Taylor division of Teradyne in July, 2003. With a handful of employees
and 2 million square feet of capacity, Taconic Synthane-Taylor began operations
manufacturing TacPreg®
and TacLam®.
In March, 2004 Tony Senese was hired as Vice President of the new Synthane-Taylor
plant and was tasked with taking the plant back to its core competency:
FR-4.
"We are in an excellent position to fill a niche that is not being filled now. The face of the industry is changing, and companies that rely on large, multinational printed circuit board shops will have to locate operations where those shops will almost all be, and that is not in North America. On the other hand, if a company can learn to service the quick turn market, and make a profit, they will prosper."
Taconic-STL manufactures FR-4 laminates and prepregs to serve the quick turn and specialty markets in North America. Virtually all orders are manufactured per customer requirements on a just in time basis. Lead times are currently 1-5 days.
